Fake Telefunken ECC83

The lower two are fake ECC83 tube that friend of mine showed me....

There is no <> mark on the bottom of the tube.
The logo is silkscreen printed with permanent pigment, the genuine one was made with powder printing which can be easily removed by rubbing on it. So the real one has a inomplete printing of ECC83 logo whereas the fake one has a more complete and beautiful Logo!
I head that some of the fake one even can make a <> mark at the bottom. So you have to be exercise with care when you buy the vacuum tube. The best is asking some expert to check the construction of the plate and getter inside...or buying from a reliable source.

New Old Stock ECC83 from Telefunken

This is some of the 40 bottles I bought last year from a Audio repairman in Ap Liu Street 2008,
He still have another 10 bottles, they are NOS, they are long smooth plate.
The printing is perfect, some of them are Pink Printing and some are white. The bottom row are all pink printing!
It was made in 1960-1970, I cannot trace when they are made but I know someone has the date code information of the tubes!
The Price was HKD600.00 a piece.

The Most Powerful Vacuum Tube for Preamp

These are telefunken ECC803S whcih was developed for small signal, to be used on an aircraft for it good performance in Signal to Noice ratio and superb stability against Microphonic vibration.

It is a direct replacement of 12AX7.

It was cheap in 20 years ago and now it has been asking like gold, in the website, you can hardly seen one anymore, even though, the pirce is high around USD$500.00

I had 20 piecse and I had been selling a lot to he Hi Fi Dealer and Shops in Hong Kong...

Now I am using Mullard 12AX7, Raytheon 1957 gold pin 7729, the Gold Pin 7729 Raytheon are even harder to find.

I still have a lot of Telefunken ECC802S, ECC801S and CCa.

If you had a chance to see one of these Great Bottlke, don't let it go... It is a piece of GEM!

Audition on amplifier using Telefunken ECC803S...

Super Quiet, that makes the vocal stands out, and the mouth of the singer is not big, with the right size!

Super wide response...

Super Flat response

Super Stable

Super Long life time... I have been using one pair on my Audio Space Preamp special made by Audio Space for about 6,000 hours, and I took them to check at Tube tester, the specification did not change anything at all when It was tested 6 years ago!!

So this is another type of CHEAP vacuum tube!
